For children who start young with us, our classroom is geared toward providing a calm and nurturing environment for your little one. In this room, your child will be given the attention they need and will begin exploring the world around them in their own time. We will help your infants explore sensory play with common items that possess unique textures, mobility of their muscles to move their bodies and objects of play, along with exercising cognitive function through playing.
If you are looking to find a daycare facility that is centered on the growth and development of your child, then look no further. The teaching model at Little Explorers is focused on providing your child with well-rounded skills to set them up for success. We work with each boy and girl at their level, and help them build confidence so they can meet and exceed each milestone, not just for their age but also for their ability.
Our Approach to Child Care
Individualized, unique care for each of our infants. One of the ways we do this is with our classroom structure. At Little Explorers, your child will be placed in a group depending on their age so that they can grow and play with like-minded peers. We have found that this can not only help to reinforce rules and routine, but also allow children to see examples and behaviors that are appropriate for their age.
Our educators plan each day with a schedule specific to his or her skills, and allow for creative expression and learning.
Our Infant Oriented Daycare Room
The infant oriented room at Little Explorer's Learning Center provides a safe, encouraging and happy atmosphere. There is an open play area, where your child can explore and develop their learning. Our teachers have a view of all the infants in the room. We sanitize toys consistently through the day. We also provide a designated storage space for your child's items, including diapers, baby wipes and food.
Our daycare room also has a great, nurturing sleep area. This area is designed to follow safety guidelines and regulations for the prevention of SIDS. Your child is only in a crib while napping.
Throughout their time with us, your child will be exposed to formal and informal education. One of the biggest focus areas for us is centered around reading time, because it helps your child develop literacy and language skills. From learning the basics of numbers, shapes and colors to recognizing letters and their sounds, to more advanced skills such as understanding the various components of a story, from characters to structure. We help to make associations through song and develop a child’s ability to follow instructions and rules with different figures of authority.
As your child progresses in age, so do the lessons they learn. The care givers at Little Explorer’s Learning Center in San Antonio is focused on recognizing when and how children are progressing in their milestones. As your son or daughter reaches each one, our care givers help to further and enhance their social and emotional skills, along with their educational path.
Who said learning can’t be fun? Even when your child is playing with toys, they are learning. Often play time helps children indirectly learn and this can be the most age-appropriate learning for younger kids. From expanding one’s imagination to reinforcing colors and shapes, play time can do a lot for preparing your child. Beyond that, it can teach a child how to interact with peers, share and communicate in a safe environment. These friendships can encourage confidence and skills as they continue to grow and play.
It also can improve physical health, and help your child overcome challenges, fears and worries through imaginative play. They learn how to problem solve and personal boundaries. Together, more formal educational opportunities and a healthy dose of playtime can keep kids learning and growing all throughout the day.
